Newsletter: July 2023

Temple Care has moved to a new location. We were blessed by so many sweet people at our Open House and are settling in well. We are so thankful for all the good things that the Lord has done! Thank you to those that helped us move and/or attended our Open House. We are ready to do what God has called us to do in Moore, Oklahoma.

Lately, God has been reminding me of some things that I have needed to hear:

1. You are loved. "God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people." 1 Thessalonians 1:4

2. You are chosen. "Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes." Ephesians 1:4

3. You are forgiven. "You were dead because of sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins." Colossians 2:13

4. You are precious. "You are precious to Me. You are honored, and I love you." Isaiah 43:4

5. You are cleansed. "But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." 1 Corinthians 6:11

There can be many reasons why we can be so cruel to ourselves, such as past abuse or unrealistic expectations. It could be helpful to share this with a counselor or friend. Repeating these truths over and over, even when I don't believe or understand them, is renewing my mind and cleansing my soul from the lies that I can tell myself.

I want to encourage you to have these truths written down on a card or sticky note throughout your house, car, and office. When you start beating yourself up, stop and think on what is true about you because of Him! God is so good to us and has good things to say about us and to us. Listen.

Love, Vickie

TESTIMONY

Temple Care has been a blessing to me in many ways. Before seeing Vickie, I did not realize how many lies I believed from the enemy. The Lord has used her gentle and kind spirit to help me heal in a healthy way. I have become a more confident person whom the Lord has created me to be. Seeing Vickie has become my safe place. When I tell her things, she does not look at me with judgement but with love and understanding. The thing that I love the most about this is that she prays before we begin a session and asks me if there is anything specific that she can be praying for me until we meet again.

"In His Image" by Jen Wilkin

The more you know God, the more you will be content in yourself because you are created in God's image. Jen Wilkin writes about becoming a better person as you find the will of God for our lives. The Bible is filled with exhortations for how we can reflect our Creator as we become increasingly like Christ.
